Home Health Resources Recognized by the Texas Medical Foundation
Houston, Texas, February 23, 2005- Home Health Resources has received recognition from the Texas Medical Foundation for achieving statistically significant improvement in the status for Surgical Wounds, and Improvement in Eating as listed on the CMS Home Health Compare website for the period 9/2003 through 8/2004. In addition, Home Health Resources ranked equal to, or above, the national and state averages in its quality measures.
"There are more than 500,000 elderly, disabled and frail Texans who have their needs met through a home care agency," says Anita Bradberry, Executive Director of the Texas Association for Home Care. Home care provides hundreds of thousands of Texans the choice to remain in their homes instead of being placed in institutional care.
In an effort to improve health care services, the Texas Medical Foundation joined forces with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in 2004 to launch a nationwide Home Health Quality Improvement Initiative.
